Where you are

There's a point where not deciding costs more than deciding.

You've thought about it. Researched it. Talked it through with people you trust. Maybe you've decided it in your head four times this month.

Nothing outside you has changed.

The same patterns come back. The same conversation with yourself, every Sunday night. And people with less experience than you, less talent, less insight, are getting the results you should be getting. Not because they're smarter. Because they moved.

That's the threshold. You can feel it. You're standing on it.

It usually sounds like this:

  • “I just need to get the structure right first.”
  • “I've pretty much decided.” (No one else knows.)
  • “Maybe next month. Let me think about it again.”
  • “If I don't handle this, no one will.”
  • “Slammed all week. The strategic stuff is next week.”
  • “It just needs more time. We've come so far.”

None of this is a lack of intelligence. It's a lock.

The map

Find yourself on the map.

Most people don't have a decision problem. They have a position problem. They can't see where they are, so they can't see the next move. Every stuck decision passes through the same places.

The path from fog to a new trajectoryA line moves through fog, notices a signal, circles in loops, reaches a threshold, splits at a fork and, after the Unlock, rises into a new trajectory. The other branch stays flat: the same year, again.ThresholdThe same year, again

Which sentence sounds most like you this month?

Your position

Pick one sentence.

The map will show where you stand, what this place usually looks like from the inside, and what helps next.

The Unlock is built for Circling, Threshold and the Fork. Earlier on the map, the book will do more for you than a session with me would.

The inside of the jar

You can't read the label from inside the jar.

Smart people are often the most stuck. Intelligence is very good at building reasons. It can make avoidance look like strategy, research, preparation or patience. Give it to your own AI and the AI will make it sound even better.

From the inside, you see the options. You don't see which one you keep walking around, or why.

FROM THE INSIDEFROM THE OUTSIDEINFORMATIONAITOOLSHACKSTRICKSINTELLIGENCETHE DECISION
Not a lack of information. Not a lack of intelligence. Not a missing hack or trick. The label is on the outside.

From the outside, it's usually visible within an hour. Not because I'm smarter than you. Because I'm not inside your jar.

What this is

The asymmetric decision is the one that changes everything.
That's exactly why you're avoiding it.
The Unlock is where you make it.

In most situations there is one decision that would move more than everything else combined. A conversation. An ending. A price. A no. A yes you've been postponing. It's rarely hidden. It's protected: by busyness, by perfectionism, by loyalty, by “not yet”.

1,000 RIGHT TASKSA FEW RIGHT MOVESWHAT IT MOVESWHAT IT MOVES

The Unlock does three things. I find the pattern that's keeping you in place. We find the one decision underneath it. You make it, and take the first step within 48 hours.

You don't need to know what the decision is before we start. Finding it is the work.

Who it's for

Smart people who know what to do and still don't do it.

I work mostly with entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and people facing high-stakes decisions. My specialty is business architecture. I also work one to one with people before a major life decision.

What I do best is find the pattern and see the structure underneath it. So if your decision is about the business, I can help you build around it. More often, the asymmetric decision is a personal one, and it carries into every other part of your life, the business included.

This is for you if

  • You run a business, lead a practice, or have built real expertise over years
  • You're facing a high-stakes decision, in your business or in your life
  • You're at a fork, or the old path is closing and the new one isn't clear yet
  • The same patterns keep coming back, and you're tired of circling
  • You've already decided you want something to change
  • You'd rather have one clear move than another framework

It's not for you if

  • You're looking for more information, a course or a toolkit
  • You want someone to make the decision for you
  • You're in acute crisis, or working through trauma (that's work for a therapist, and I'll tell you so)
  • You want reassurance rather than an honest outside view

How the Unlock works

Two conversations. One decision. One move.

THE LOOPTHE THRESHOLDTHE MOVE01 INTAKE02 DIAGNOSIS03 THE UNLOCK04 · 48 HOURS
  1. The intake call · 60 min, live

A private decision room for one. I ask, you talk. Where you are, what keeps coming back, what you've tried. Bring the mess. You don't need a clean question.

  2. The diagnosis · I work, you don't

Between the sessions I map what I heard: the pattern you're running, the threshold you keep stepping back from, and the decision with the highest upside. Written, before we meet again.

  3. The Unlock session · 90 min, live

With the diagnosis in hand, I ask the questions. You get to the decision yourself. That's why it holds. We end with one move you make within 48 hours.

  4. The note · within 24 hours

A short written note: the pattern, the decision, the 48-hour move. So it doesn't dissolve into “that was a good conversation”.

After

30-day check-in. A month later we look at what moved, and what the next decision is.

Book a 20-minute call

A short conversation to see if this is the right fit. No pitch.

What you leave with

Not insight. Movement.

  • 01Your pattern, named. The way you keep yourself in place, in your own words.
  • 02The decision. The one with the most upside, stated in one sentence.
  • 03What it protects you from. The cost you've been avoiding: a conversation, a loss, an exposure, an identity you'd have to let go of.
  • 04The 48-hour move. One concrete step, small enough to take this week.
  • 05A check-in at 30 days.Accountability without dependency.

After the session

Once you see the pattern, it loses its grip.

A pattern keeps you in place because you can't see it. Once it has a name, in your own words, it stops running on its own. You still feel the pull. You just don't follow it automatically anymore. You get to choose.

What you leave with isn't a rush of motivation. It's the ability to decide again: you can see the decision, it's yours, and you know the next move.

Example

What it looks like

A composite example, not a client.

Where they were: Fifteen years running a successful business. Closed it. Started online. A year later: many projects, none finished, revenue flat.

What they thought the question was: Which new project should I focus on?

The pattern: Starting new things to avoid going back to what they already know works, because going back felt like failure.

The decision: Return to the clients who already trust them, with one offer and one price.

The 48-hour move: List five past contacts. Reach out to two, with the offer and the price, by Friday.

Proof

What happens when the decision gets made.

“Working with Lucas gave me clarity, direction and obvious next steps. He helped me make the decision to write my own book, and to set the architecture and structure of my business.”
Jakub Lizak · FIDE Candidate Master, Szachowy Doktor · PolandONE TO ONE
“Actioning the book has enabled me to make significant life changes in a week. The decision filter challenged me to make a decision I'd been scared to make. I decided to make it and although I had to deal with my fears for a day or so, I overcame. For the first time in years I feel aligned, like the real me is finally talking.”

“The "sequencing strategy" I'd told myself I was running turned out to be cover for something simpler: cold strangers on LinkedIn are lower-stakes than messaging people who already have a track record with me and could say no to my face. That's the part I hadn't looked at directly until the Filter forced it.”

Who's behind it

Lucas Hubert

I've stood where you're standing.

Twenty years building companies, brands and products. For a long stretch of it I did the exact thing I now help people stop doing: I stayed busy, built systems and kept refining, to avoid one decision underneath it all. It ended in burnout. Then I made it.

I built the Unlock because I know how long I limited myself without seeing it. It took me years, a book, and a method I first had to apply to myself.

That's what Asymmetric Decisions is about, and it's what I do in the Unlock. I combine two things that rarely sit in one person: I see the pattern that keeps someone stuck, and after two decades of building and selling, I can tell whether the new direction will actually hold in business.

A therapist asks why. A coach asks how you feel. A consultant tells you what to do. I find the decision you're avoiding, and you make it.

What you get from me is a clear, honest judgment. It isn't designed to make you feel better for a week, and it isn't a course that solves things for you. It's work at the deepest level: where the decision actually lives.

The first asymmetric decision

Two sessions are a small amount of time. The decision you make in them can change the direction of your business, or your life, for years. For most people the biggest resistance isn't the decision they're avoiding. It's this one: deciding to look at it with someone, for real.

It may be the best-spent money of your year. Or it may not be the right fit, and the 20-minute call is there to find that out first.

What comes after

For many people, one Unlock is enough: the decision is made and the rest follows. Others continue: one or two sessions a month on the next decisions, or deeper one-to-one work on building the business around the decision. We decide that together, after. Never before.

Questions

Before we talk.

I don't know what my decision is. Is that a problem?

No. That's the most common case. Most people come in knowing only that they're not moving. Finding the decision is the first part of the work.

Why start with a 20-minute call?

Because working together takes trust, and you should be able to see whether this fits before you pay. Twenty minutes is enough for both of us to tell. No pitch.

I've read the book. Why would I need this?

The book gives you the method: the patterns, the Filter, the move. Many readers use it alone, and it works. What the book can't do is stand outside your situation. If you've run the Filter and you're still circling, the question usually isn't which option. It's which decision you keep walking around. That's what I see from the outside.

Do I need to read the book first?

No. It helps, but you don't need a single page of it. You bring the situation, I bring the method.

How is this different from the Decision Room?

The Decision Room is a group. We work through one decision live and everyone learns from it. The Unlock is only you, in depth, with a diagnosis written for your situation.

Is this therapy? Coaching?

Neither. I don't work on your past, and I don't offer ongoing support for how you feel. I work on one decision and the move that follows it. If something comes up that belongs with a therapist, I'll tell you plainly.

Couldn't I do this with AI?

AI can analyze the frame you give it. It can't tell that the frame itself is the avoidance. If the avoidance is inside the prompt, AI makes it look intelligent. Seeing the frame is the work.

What if I don't like what we find?

That's often a sign we found the right thing. The decision people avoid is usually the one that costs something: a conversation, an ending, a change in how they see themselves. I won't push you into it. I'll make sure you see it clearly, and the choice stays yours.

Is it confidential?

Completely. Your situation, your numbers, your decision stay between us. Nothing is shared, published or reused.

Can I do this without calls?

Yes. There's a written, asynchronous version: you send the situation, I send back a decision memo. Mention it when you book, or write to me.

What happens after the 30 days?

Nothing, unless you want it to. Some people continue with sessions once or twice a month, some go into deeper one-to-one work, most simply move. The $1,500 is credited if we continue.

How soon can we start?

Usually within a week. I keep a small number of Unlocks per month so each one gets full attention.

The move

One right decision beats a thousand right tasks.

If you've read this far, you probably already feel which decision it is. Or you feel the place where it should be. Either is enough to start.
